Important: AEGIS Blackwall can change security, privacy, network, startup, firewall, and encryption-related settings. Review actions carefully, keep current backups, and preserve passwords, recovery keys, and rescue media.
1. Acceptance of these Terms
By accessing the official AEGIS Blackwall website, downloading a release, or using the update service, you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the website, distribution service, or update channel.
The developer or distributor of AEGIS Blackwall is referred to as the “Publisher.” “You” means the person or organization using the website or software.
2. Software license and EULA
The AEGIS Blackwall software is licensed, not sold. Installing or using it requires acceptance of the End User License Agreement presented by the application. If these Terms conflict with that agreement about use of the installed software, the End User License Agreement controls. The Privacy Policy controls descriptions of AEGIS data practices.
3. Authorized use
You may use AEGIS only on Windows devices you own or are authorized to manage. You are responsible for having permission to inspect or modify the device, network, applications, accounts, and data involved.
You must comply with applicable law, workplace rules, school policies, service agreements, and third-party license terms.
4. System and security changes
AEGIS can read and change supported Windows settings and can open, download, or help configure other tools. Some actions require administrator approval and may affect connectivity, application compatibility, performance, device behavior, startup, security posture, or access to data.
- Read the explanation and confirmation shown before an action.
- Maintain current, tested backups before significant changes.
- Preserve BitLocker recovery keys, VeraCrypt credentials, rescue media, and other recovery information outside the affected device.
- Confirm that changes are appropriate for your device and environment.
AEGIS is not a backup product and cannot recover lost encryption credentials.
5. Third-party software and services
AEGIS may detect, open, link to, download, or assist with third-party products and websites, including Microsoft services, VeraCrypt, Portmaster, VPN providers, browser vendors, extension stores, GitHub projects, Discord-related tools, Spotify-related tools, and Windows modification utilities.
Third-party products are supplied by their owners under separate terms and privacy policies. Unless expressly stated, the Publisher is not affiliated with or endorsed by those providers. Their names and marks belong to their respective owners. You are responsible for evaluating third-party tools before installing or using them.
6. Updates, availability, and feature changes
The Publisher may provide automatic or manual updates, change release channels, add or remove features, correct security behavior, or discontinue a download or service. The website, update service, and software may be unavailable or changed without guarantee of continuous operation.
An update may require a restart and may be subject to revised terms when changes are material.
7. Ownership
The website, application interface, original code, documentation, AEGIS name, and AEGIS artwork are owned by or licensed to the Publisher and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Third-party components remain the property of their respective owners.
No right is granted to use AEGIS branding in a way that suggests sponsorship, endorsement, or an official modified release.
8. Prohibited conduct
You may not:
- Use AEGIS to access, inspect, or modify a device without authorization.
- Use the website, downloads, or software for unlawful activity.
- Redistribute altered releases as official AEGIS builds or misrepresent the software as your own.
- Bypass distribution safeguards, signatures, update integrity checks, access controls, or safety confirmations.
- Interfere with the website, update infrastructure, or other users’ access.
- Introduce malware, harmful code, or deceptive downloads through any AEGIS-related channel.
Restrictions on reverse engineering apply only to the extent permitted by applicable law and the software’s End User License Agreement.
9. No professional advice and disclaimer of warranties
AEGIS provides device-management tools and status information. It is not legal, compliance, forensic, financial, or professional security advice and does not guarantee that a device is secure, private, malware-free, compatible, or compliant with any standard.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE WEBSITE, DISTRIBUTION SERVICE, UPDATES, AND SOFTWARE ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, RELIABILITY, AVAILABILITY, OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so part of this section may not apply to you.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE PUBLISHER WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, CREDENTIALS, RECOVERY KEYS, PROFITS, BUSINESS, CONNECTIVITY, SECURITY, OR DEVICE USE ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO AEGIS.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limits mandatory consumer rights.
11. Suspension and termination
The Publisher may restrict access to distribution services when reasonably necessary to address abuse, security risk, legal requirements, or a material violation of these Terms. Your software license ends as described in the End User License Agreement. Provisions intended by their nature to survive termination remain in effect.
12. Applicable law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the Publisher’s place of business, excluding conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer law provides otherwise. Your local statutory rights are not waived.
If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective.
13. Changes to these Terms
The Publisher may update these Terms to reflect changes in the website, distribution method, software, law, or security requirements. The effective date will be updated. Continued use after revised Terms become effective constitutes acceptance where permitted by law; material software-license changes may require separate acceptance in the application.
14. Contact
Questions about these Terms should be directed through the official support contact published on the AEGIS Blackwall distribution page. If no support contact is shown, the public support channel has not yet opened.
