Plain-language commitment: AEGIS Blackwall does not collect, receive, store, sell, or share your personal data through the desktop application or official website. It has no telemetry, analytics, advertising, cloud accounts, or remote user database.
1. Scope
This policy applies to the AEGIS Blackwall Windows application, the official website at aegis-blackwall.pages.dev, and the AEGIS update endpoint. AEGIS Blackwall is provided by its developer or distributor (the “Publisher”).
Services you choose to open through AEGIS—such as Microsoft services, GitHub, browser stores, VPN providers, and third-party utilities—operate under their own privacy policies. AEGIS does not control their practices.
2. No data collection by AEGIS
AEGIS does not collect personal information, device inventories, security events, scan history, file paths, browser history, startup entries, network details, encryption status, usage analytics, crash telemetry, advertising identifiers, precise location, payment information, or message content.
AEGIS does not create an online account or profile for you. The Publisher has no AEGIS user database containing information from the desktop application or website.
3. Information processed locally
Depending on the feature used, the application may read and display:
- Microsoft Defender, firewall, quarantine, scan, exclusion, and Windows security-event status.
- Network adapters, DNS configuration, connection state, and device information exposed by Windows.
- Startup entries, boot-performance information, installed applications, browsers, VPN clients, and supported tools.
- BitLocker and VeraCrypt availability, drive state, and mounted encrypted-volume information.
- Your AEGIS display name, profile-image path, appearance, notification, update, and application preferences.
This information stays on your PC in the application, your Windows user profile, Windows system stores, or third-party application stores. It is not sent to AEGIS. AEGIS does not request or store encryption passwords, private keys, or recovery keys.
4. Infrastructure and external connections
Although AEGIS does not collect your data, another company must technically handle a network request when your browser loads the website, the application checks for an update, or you open a third-party page. Those direct connections are summarized below.
| Activity | Where it is handled | What AEGIS receives | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| Device and security information displayed in AEGIS | Locally on your PC | Nothing | Controlled by you, Windows, and local application settings |
| AEGIS preferences, display name, and profile-image path | Locally in your Windows user profile | Nothing | Until you change or delete the local settings |
| Website visits and update-file requests | Cloudflare, which hosts and secures the site and files | Nothing is copied into an AEGIS analytics system, log database, or user profile | Controlled by Cloudflare under its own policies |
| A page, store listing, provider, or download you choose to open | Directly by the selected third-party provider | Nothing | Controlled by that provider under its own policy |
AEGIS does not enable Cloudflare Web Analytics and does not export, review, or maintain Cloudflare request logs as an AEGIS user-activity record.
5. No sale, sharing, or profiling
Because AEGIS does not collect your personal data, it does not sell it, rent it, trade it, disclose it to data brokers, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use it to build advertising or behavior profiles.
AEGIS does not submit files, security samples, device activity, or application usage to the Publisher.
6. Retention and deletion
AEGIS has no collected personal-data record to retain or delete. Local settings remain on your PC until you change or delete them. Reports you export remain only where you save them.
Cloudflare, Microsoft, and providers you choose to contact control the retention of information processed directly by their services. Their retention practices are not AEGIS data collection.
7. Infrastructure and third-party providers
Cloudflare provides hosting, delivery, HTTPS, and security for the official website and update files. A website or update request reaches Cloudflare directly from your device. Cloudflare may process standard technical request information under its own privacy terms, but AEGIS does not receive that information into a Publisher-operated analytics or user database.
Windows-managed features may contact Microsoft. Pages and downloads you deliberately open may contact browser vendors, extension stores, VPN providers, GitHub, or other selected providers. Each provider is responsible for its own privacy practices and any international processing it performs.
8. Your choices
There is no AEGIS account, cloud profile, or collected AEGIS data record to access, correct, export, or delete. You control local information by:
- Changing or removing the local display name and profile image.
- Changing automatic-update and local activity preferences in Settings.
- Closing AEGIS and deleting its preferences from the AEGIS Blackwall folder under your Windows Local AppData profile.
- Declining to open or download a third-party tool.
Requests about information handled by Cloudflare, Microsoft, or another provider must be directed to that provider because AEGIS does not possess those records.
9. Security
The official website and update channel use HTTPS and restrictive browser security headers. AEGIS reduces privacy risk by keeping device information local and by operating without a remote user-data repository. You remain responsible for securing your Windows account, local settings, exported reports, encryption credentials, and device.
10. Cookies, analytics, and tracking
The official website does not set AEGIS cookies, use analytics, load tracking pixels, provide account sign-in, show targeted advertising, or use third-party web fonts. It does not create a browsing profile and does not need a separate response to “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signals.
11. Changes and contact
This policy may be revised if AEGIS features, distribution methods, providers, or legal requirements change. If AEGIS ever introduces data collection, this notice will be updated before that collection begins and the change will be disclosed clearly. The effective date above identifies the current version.
Privacy questions should be directed through the verified support contact published on the official AEGIS Blackwall distribution page. Do not send passwords, recovery keys, security logs, or other sensitive device information.
